Frequently asked questions
Can I get funded flat roof insulation in L70 under the Warm Homes Plan?
Yes. Flat roof insulation is an eligible measure under the Warm Homes Plan for properties in L70 that have flat or low-pitched roofs. It is typically installed as part of a wider package of measures. Submit the eligibility form to find out what your property qualifies for.
How is flat roof insulation installed?
Flat roof insulation is typically installed above the existing roof deck (warm roof method) or below it (cold roof method), depending on the roof's current construction. The accredited installer will assess your L70 property's flat roof and recommend the most appropriate method during the free survey.
Does my whole roof need to be flat to qualify?
No. Even if only part of your home has a flat roof, such as an extension or garage, that section may qualify for flat roof insulation. The measure applies to the flat or low-pitched sections of the property. The inspector will identify which areas are suitable.
Can flat roof insulation be combined with other Warm Homes Plan measures?
Yes. Flat roof insulation is usually installed alongside other measures such as wall insulation, loft insulation for pitched sections, and heating upgrades. Combining measures maximises the energy improvement to your home and reduces overall heat loss.
Who qualifies for funded flat roof insulation?
You must receive a qualifying means-tested benefit (such as Universal Credit, Pension Credit, or Income Support) and your home must have an EPC rating of D, E, F or G. Owner-occupiers and private tenants with landlord permission can apply.
Is the eligibility check free?
Yes. The check is free and takes about 60 seconds. There is no obligation to proceed.
